Sole Developer

A journey through grief, memory, and acceptance.
Old is a low-poly narrative game that explores the emotional stages of grief through a short, story-driven experience. Players walk through a series of symbolic rooms, each representing a different stage of mourning after the loss of a mother.
As you move through these spaces, memories begin to surface. Moments from the past slowly take shape, helping to visualise the emotional weight of loss and the struggle to move forward.
At the end of the journey, you are faced with a choice. The decision is not shown on screen. Instead, it is left entirely to you.
One path represents denial and the refusal to let go, leading to a fall into sorrow.
The other leads back to a final memory in a hospital room, playing cards with your mother, representing acceptance and peace.
Old focuses on emotional storytelling through environment, atmosphere, and player interpretation.
